02Frequently asked questions
What is RSVP reading?
Rapid Serial Visual Presentation displays words one at a time in a fixed location. ReadRush keeps the word centered and highlights a red focus letter to reduce unnecessary eye movement.
What is effective WPM?
ReadRush combines reading speed and comprehension:
Effective WPM = actual WPM × comprehension percentage
For example, 800 actual WPM with 90% comprehension produces 720 effective WPM. This rewards useful speed rather than simply flashing through words.
How do I change reading speed?
Choose a challenge and adjust the speed between 100 and 1,200 WPM. You can also save a preferred speed in Profile.
Can I pause or restart a challenge?
Yes. The reader provides pause, resume, and restart controls. No advertisement can interrupt an active reading session or quiz.
What is the baseline test?
The onboarding baseline is a 30-second reading exercise followed by comprehension questions. It establishes an initial effective WPM result.
How are personal bests and streaks calculated?
Your personal best is the highest effective WPM achieved in a completed challenge. Your streak reflects consecutive calendar days with a completed reading challenge.
Do I need an account?
No. The core app works locally without an account. Connecting Sign in with Apple allows ReadRush to associate and synchronize your profile and reading progress through Supabase.
Why did Apple not provide my name or regular email?
Apple normally provides a name only during the first authorization. If you choose Hide My Email, ReadRush receives an Apple private relay address instead of your personal address. You can edit your display name in Profile.
How do I reset my progress?
Open Profile → Reset reading progress. This clears local reading sessions, scores, personal best, and streak information.
How do I delete my account and cloud data?
Open Profile → Delete account and cloud data. The app will ask for confirmation, then remove the Supabase authentication account, synchronized ReadRush state, and local reading history.
If you cannot access the app, email info@ptriinnovation.com from the address connected to the account and request ReadRush account deletion.
Sign in with Apple is not working
Check that:
- the device has an internet connection;
- you are signed in to iCloud;
- two-factor authentication is enabled for the Apple Account when Apple requires it;
- you are using the current TestFlight or App Store build; and
- Apple’s and Supabase’s services are available.
If the issue continues, send us the error message without including credentials or authorization codes.
